Mobile Bearing Primary TKR: Tibial Resection (Case Study 1)

The key femoral and tibial landmarks are identified and marked, along with the anterior bimalleolar bisector. The tibial resection jig is attached and aligned to the landmarks. Tibial slope is adjusted, the cutting block is fixed in place and the tibial plateau is resected.

MicroHip Appraoch: Acetabular Preparation and Implantation

The implant shown in this video is the DePuy CORAIL® MicroHip Approach system. The labrum is removed and the femur is moved distally using a retractor in order to present a clear view of the acetabulum. The acetabulum is reamed using an angled reamer, aligned longitudinally to the patient. A trial cup is inserted, impacted and assessed for adequate coverage of the acetabular rim. The final cup is implanted and secured.
